Dr Aheed Khan
Dr. Aheed Khan is a full-time doctor and paediatrician, an author, archivist, and history enthusiast, and also the founder of Essence, a food kitchen company rooted in culture and nostalgia. Always an avid reader and writing since the age of fourteen, he discovered early on the power of words to capture emotion, preserve memory, and tell stories that might otherwise be forgotten. His first book, Bleed (2019), was an anthology of poems that explored the intricate shades of love, loss, and remembrance.
Born and raised in Rampur, Dr. Aheed remained rooted in the memories of his hometown even after moving to Delhi to pursue his medical education and specialisation. The stories, streets, and people of Rampur continued to live within him, shaping his sense of identity and purpose. Over time, this connection grew into a deeper calling to document and archive Rampurâs rich cultural and historical legacy. His forthcoming book on the princely state of Rampur is the culmination of that journey, blending history, heritage, and personal memory into a single narrative.
Medicine, history, and art form the three pillars of Dr. Aheedâs life. He believes that science and creativity are not separate pursuits but reflections of the same human curiosity that drives understanding and empathy. Through his medical practice, writing, and culinary venture, he continues to explore this balance, healing, documenting, and creating with the same devotion that defines his work and his world.
BAYAN-E-RAMPUR
Aheed Khanâs Bayan-e-Rampur project is powered by a dedicated team of researchers, heritage enthusiasts, students, and local collaborators who are passionate about restoring Rampurâs authentic history. The team works together on field visits, monument surveys, heritage walks, and deep archival researchâand they actively welcome new members, especially young people who share their mission. Alongside local experts and students from cities such as Delhi and Aligarh, a few foreigners who have developed an interest in Rampurâs heritage also participate in the Project's activities.

Bleed- Written By Aheed Khan
âBleedâ is a collection of fifty poems spanning seven years into the crests and troughs of a poetâs life, bled onto paper. The author, who also happens to be a full-time doctor, finds solace and sanity in verses. âBleedâ is designed to tell a story about love lost in six sections with each section describing a certain era of the poetâs life and the tribulations he had succumbed. Each section depicts a different genre of poems he writes and one can read a story of love unfolding and then folding back into oblivion. As you will read through, perhaps on a shady morning or on a coffee table, you will find yourself immersed in these simple yet yielding verses which have so beautifully been penned from the inks of his struggle and the joys of him overcoming them.
